About International Scientific Cooperation Office

The International Scientific Cooperation Department has the responsibility for the development of international activities ranging from developing links and partnerships with research and higher education institutes and businesses overseas, as well as managing relationships with the administrations responsible for international activities in Iranian institutions. This department offers support and expertise to academic departments at the university to encourage their staff and students to promote their international activities. The department also facilitates visa application for the international visitors to the university through the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The international students' applications are dealt with the International Student Office of this department. The international programs are decided through the relevant councils of the university.

The university's policies and international scientific collaboration programs are as follows:

• Inviting international researchers and professors to give lectures at the university and specialized conferences
• Providing the necessary conditions for university professors to give lectures at international centers and universities
• Facilitating the definition of joint research
• Joint publications: international books journals
• Encouraging faculty members to co-author books and articles considering special incentives for such co-orships
• Encouraging faculty members to co-author books and articles and allocating special credits for such collaborative works
• Facilitating the organization of specialized international workshops, meetings, and conferences
• Promoting and encouraging faculty members to translate authoritative scientific books
• Facilitating access to and disseminating information regarding short- and medium-term study/research scholarships offered by international scientific centers and organizations for professors and students
• Enabling University of Zanjan professors to supervise theses for non-Iranian students
• Facilitating the co-supervision of Iranian students' theses by University of Zanjan professors in collaboration with professors from overseas universities
• Arranging six-month study abroad opportunities for graduate students, particularly at the PhD level
• Arranging six-month study opportunities at the University of Zanjan for international graduate students, particularly at the PhD level
• Organizing short-term training courses and workshops for PhD students abroad
• Liaising with relevant organizations to secure funding for the aforementioned courses and study opportunities
• Facilitating the exchange of consultancy services between the University of Zanjan and overseas institutions
• Admitting non-Iranian students for undergraduate or graduate studies with instruction and thesis/dissertation work conducted in Persian (subject to proof of Persian language proficiency)
• Launching short-term Persian language courses at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, and promoting—via various media such as websites, embassies, and international TV channels—the admission of non-Iranian students interested in learning Persian, including the issuance of certificates
• Admitting international graduate students with instruction in English (subject to valid proof of English language proficiency) in two formats: one including coursework... (prior to the thesis stage or via a research-only track without coursework)
• Preparing study guides in Persian, English, Turkish, and Arabic—tailored to each of the aforementioned student admission categories—in either print or digital format
• Faculty exchange
• Recruiting international part-time faculty for short-term teaching (minimum one month, preferably at the PhD level) or for conducting specialized workshops
• Facilitating opportunities for university faculty to teach short- or medium-term courses or conduct specialized workshops at overseas universities and institutions
• Establishing inter-university degree programs or joint PhD training initiatives
• Facilitating the exchange of cultural services between the University of Zanjan and overseas institutions for faculty and students
