International Student Admission Commeettee and Executive

Policy-making and executive bodies on admission and granting scholarships to international students in Iran

1. The Strategic Council for Policy-making for Accepting Non-Iranian Students

Is formed to make major policies in all matters related to non-Iranian students.

2. The Non-Iranian Students Scholarship Council

It performs its duties in line with the implementation of the approvals of the Strategic Council for Policy-making and making decisions regarding granting scholarships to applicants for study in the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as supervising the recruitment, assessment and evaluation of academic, welfare, cultural and educational matters of non-Iranian students.

Note: The Non-Iranian Students Office of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, as the secretariat of the Scholarship Council, is responsible for compiling the applicant files and following up on the council's approvals.

3. Working Groups

In order to facilitate the process of administrative affairs and better perform the duties of the Scholarship Council, specialized working groups for recruitment, cultural affairs, assessment and evaluation of academic and welfare matters are formed.

Decision-making bodies and their duties at the University of Zanjan

1. The International Student Admissions Committee of the University of Zanjan

This is a committee in which the admission of international students is approved, and its members include:

The University President (Chairman of the Committee), Director of the International Scientific Cooperation Group (Secretary of the Council), Vice President for Education of the University, Vice President for Research and Technology of the University, Vice President for Student Affairs, Director of Education, Director of Postgraduate Education, President of the Sohravardi Campus, Vice Presidents for Education of the Faculties, Head of the Office of Admissions and Supervision of International Students (Non-Iranian)

Other individuals are invited to attend if necessary.

2. Management of International Scientific Cooperation of the University

This management operates under the supervision of the University President in order to establish multilateral interactions between the University of Zanjan and institutions abroad (universities, educational, research and other scientific-cultural centers) in the fields of education, research activities, and consulting and cultural affairs. This group facilitates the education of these students through the University Council, the Education Council, and the Office of Admission and Supervision of Non-Iranian Students.

3. Office of Admission and Supervision of International Students (Non-Iranian)

This office operates under the supervision of the International Academic Cooperation Group and is responsible for implementing the decisions of the International Students Admission Committee of the University of Zanjan. The duties of this department are as follows:

a) Promoting and introducing the university to attract applicants through consultations, brochures, consulates, embassies, and communication with related organizations

b) Establishing contact with applicants and providing necessary information

c) Receiving and initially reviewing applicants' documents according to ministerial and internal regulations

d) Reviewing documents received from the International Student Admissions Committee

e) Confirming the applicant's general eligibility through competent authorities

c) Preparing the applicant's file for consideration and review by the International Student Admissions Committee

g) Reviewing applicants' files

h) Carrying out necessary correspondence with relevant authorities

k) Following up and carrying out consular affairs for applicants

d) Drafting relevant procedures and proposing them to the International Student Admissions Committee

z) Implementing the approvals of the International Admissions Committee

r) Submitting the applicant's acceptance report to the International Student Admissions Committee

g) Verifying the document In English and sending to relevant authorities

S) Following up on scholarship applications from the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology

S) Receiving and following up on scholarship applications from the University of Zanjan

S) Corresponding and responding to inquiries from the Ministry, the police force and other relevant authorities

S) Following up on issuing permanent exit visas to applicants after submitting transcripts and graduation certificates

I) Controlling residence permits at the beginning of each academic semester

4. University Educational Vice-Chancellor

The most important duties of this vice-chancellor regarding international (non-Iranian) students include:

A) Reviewing and approving qualifications and specific conditions for studying at the university through faculties and educational departments

B) Issuing student admission to the university

C) Managing educational affairs in accordance with the university's educational regulations

D) Controlling student non-debt

E) Providing transcripts and graduation certificates after approval by the Ministry

C) Evaluating and issuing graduation certificates

G) Interacting with the Admissions Office and Supervising international (non-Iranian) students regarding general qualification from that office, correspondence with relevant authorities within the country and international correspondence, checking residence permits at the beginning of each academic semester, investigating and following up on specific issues of students.

5. University Student Affairs Office

The most important duties of this office regarding international (non-Iranian) students are:

a) Providing housing or dormitory assistance without tuition fees for single scholarship students, considering a special place for these students

b) Providing health insurance, food, and other necessary welfare facilities and amenities for scholarship students based on the regulations for accepting and granting scholarships to non-Iranian students in universities and higher education centers of the country

c) Providing tuition assistance and thesis assistance for eligible scholarship students (type A scholarship holders)

d) Facilitating and coordinating the provision of dormitory, health insurance, food, and other welfare facilities and amenities for non-scholarship students, subject to the payment of the necessary expenses by the student

d) Facilitating and coordinating the provision of married dormitory on or off campus for all scholarship and non-scholarship students, subject to the payment of the necessary expenses by the student
